The iSOL-MET Kick-Off Meeting took place in Piraeus office on October 21st, 2020. As COVID-19 pandemic has had significant impacts on the daily life, people who could not attend physically participated in the meeting via Zoom. This event was kindly hosted at the office of the Hellenic Shortsea Shipowners Association (HSSA).
The Kick-Off Meeting brought together all the project’s partners and it was a welcome opportunity for the participants to present their institutions and their role in the implementation of the project.
The representative of the Lead partner (University of the Aegean) Prof. Maria Lekakou, hosting the meeting, welcomed all partners and greeted the participants in the iSOL-MET Kick-Off Meeting. She shortly presented the items of the agenda and gave the opportunity to each partner to introduce themselves and their organizations.
During that meeting, the steps for the successful implementation of the project’s physical objective were subject to a thorough analysis, particularly featuring the methodology which will be implemented in order to achieve the project’s goals. Partners gave particular emphasis on the technical and quality monitoring of the project and its outputs.
Furthermore, valuable contributions were offered by representatives from the Maritime industry such as Mr. Giorgos Vozikis (General Director of Hellenic Shortsea Shipowners Association), Cpt Giorgos Tsouris (ex. Operation Manager and Deputy DPA of Blue Planet Shipping Ltd and President of Chios Marine Club), Cpt Michalis Fragkias (DPA Sun Enterprises Ltd) and Anna Katsika (Senior HR Officer, Euronav Ship Management).
